Canada is taking a closer look at certain steel wire imports from 12 countries, including China, India, and Vietnam. The CBSA has started an investigation after Canadian producers, Sivaco Wire Group and ArcelorMittal, raised concerns.
They claim that unfair pricing—via dumping—is hurting local businesses through lost sales, falling prices, and job cuts.
The Canadian market for this steel wire is worth around $460 million a year, so the impact could be significant.
