The Museum of the Future in Dubai, UAE, is an architectural and engineering marvel. Straddling confidently between the past and the future while combining advanced technology with traditional art forms, it occupies a prime location adjacent to the Emirates Towers, making itself an expressive and dynamic landmark.

Designed by the architectural firm Killa Design and engineered by Buro Happold engineering consultancy, the primary inspiration for the Museum of the Future was to represent the vision of the future through window designs in the form of Arabic calligraphy. These are based on quotes from the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, about mankind’s passion for the arts and creation, with the calligraphy of Mattar bin Lahej intricately 3D-mapped onto the curved skin.

The museum comprises three main parts: the green hill, the building, and the void. The green hill represents the earth, symbolizing solidity, permanence, and rootedness in place, time, and history. The building is a boldly shaped, futuristic, glimmering structure representing mankind, with all its strength, artistry, and ability to create harmony with its surroundings. The elliptical void within the structure represents innovation and the unwritten future into which humanity and the world can symbolically look. It is a source of inspiration for today's innovators and creators.

The Museum of the Future’s façade is clad in 316 stainless steel and consists of 1,024 pieces, covering a total surface area of 17,600 square meters. Spanning 78 meters (or 255 feet) in height, it occupies an overall area of 30,548 square meters, with several exhibition floors above a three-storey podium. The design is a low carbon civic building, achieved through the use of many design innovations.

Dedicated to design and innovation, the Museum of the Future in Dubai is a timeless landmark and a shining example of low carbon buildings in the UAE. It is also a global destination for the best and brightest inventors and entrepreneurs, offering an integrated environment that empowers creative minds and ideas for the future.
